Fwd: Concentrate on this Sentence!

Concentrate on this sentence
'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence..... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.' Something good will happen to you today. Something that you have been waiting to hear. This is not a joke; someone will call you by phone or will speak to you about something that you were waiting to hear.

Fwd: FW: Shorter Wait In The Emergency Room

 EMERGENCY ROOM

The other day, I needed to go to the emergency room.

Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I put on my old Air Force fatigues and stuck a patch that I had downloaded off the internet onto the front of my shirt.

When I went into the E..R., I noticed that 3/4 of the people got up and left. I guess they decided that they weren't that sick after all.
Here's the patch. Feel free to use it the next time you're in need of quicker emergency service.

It also works well if you use it at a Laundromat.

Welcome to Verve Earth

Lithonia City Government

Below was in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday, May 6, 2008:

Mayor Joyce McKibben still not able to return to her office

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 05/06/08

Attorneys for the city of Lithonia and Mayor Joyce McKibben tried Tuesday to work out a way to get the mayor back into her city office —but they failed. Now, the question of whether city police officers can continue monitoring McKibben while she works in her office will likely be rolled into a lawsuit pending in DeKalb Superior Court, asking a judge to decide on the scope of the mayor's powers.

Antavius Weems, McKibben's private attorney, has requested an expedited hearing on the lawsuit rising out of an ongoing power struggle between the mayor and the city council. Weems said the problems have kept the city at a near-standstill for a month. "My understanding is, they are not allowing her full access to things in her office," Weems said. "They are preventing the mayor of Lithonia from conducting business."

McKibben has not worked in her office since April 7, after a heated meeting with the city council, leading the council to change the locks on City Hall. Police have been stationed outside the city hall annex, where McKibben's locked office is located, after reports that the mayor and her staff appeared to shredding documents.

Interim City Attorney Debra Golymbieski said she had sent a letter for McKibben to sign, promising to safeguard public records and property. "The police are taking reasonable measures to safeguard public property that remains inside the building," Golymbieski said.

McKibben did not sign the letter, on Weems' advice. The mayor said she had tried to enter her office as recently as Monday but felt intimidated by the police presence. Weems said the shredding accusations were false and a way for the city to continue to interfere with McKibben's ability to do her duty. McKibben said some of the items in her office include responses for bids to conduct city audits for 2006 and 2007 as well as bids for filling positions for city attorney and accountant. Hiring on those issues has been delayed, though the council is slated to take up the audit issue at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

I wonder what these people think that they look like to the rest of Georgia, bickering and fighting instead of conducting business for the city of Lithonia!  Hmmmm!

18-Months After Weight Loss Surgery

Date: April 7, 2008 15:48

Topic: 18-Months After Weight Loss Surgery

Dear Journal,

Today was my 18-month checkup after my weight loss surgery and I've lost 197.5 lbs and my blood pressure is 130/70.  So far all is well and I feel great!  Just 50 or so more pounds to lose.  I would like to get under 200 lbs.  That is now my goal so I have to step up my exercise!

Way too go!!
